Cows’ milk heavy, goats’ milk light!

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

I have been buying my little boy who is two and a half years old goats’ milk since has was one. He suffered from constant ear infections and was always at the doctors and having to go on anti-biotics which never seemed to help. My mother-in-law who has semi-skimmed goats’ milk due to dairy intolerence suggested goats milk. I have never looked back! My little boy has not once since suffered with an ear infection!

Its so easy for him to digest he has it on his breakfast, plus in his bottle. We ran out of goats’ milk a few days ago so he had a small amount of full fat cows milk & we were both up all night as he was coughing so much due to the heavyness of cows milk for him!

Many thanks for providing this fab milk for us.

Premature alpacas drinks Delamere goats’ milk!

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Prompted by “Another satisfied customer” I thought I would let you know of our experience.

“We breed alpacas, and had a premature cria born on Easter Saturday, whom we called Horatio. He was a strong little fellow and was doing well until, 17 days later, his mother dropped dead. Having heard of alpacas taking goat’s milk, we bought some from our local Morrisons and mixed 50% whole and 50% semi-skimmed. He loves it! Now 39 days old, he has regained his birth weight plus more than 50%.

Thank you Delamere!”

I suffer with chronic Ear Nose & Throat infection problems as well as Asthma and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Dearest Delamere,

I am writing to thank you for the lovely goats’ milk that is widely available from supermarkets now.  I suffer with chronic Ear Nose & Throat infection problems as well as Asthma and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  I have hated cow’s milk since I was a child but was forced to drink it because my mum thought I needed it as part of a healthy diet.  If only she had known about goats’ milk!  I am now in my 50s.  Not only can I stomach it, it also helps to prevent ENT mucus congestion – the goats’ milk helps me to stop choking – especially at night time.  I prefer the skimmed version

My daughter is studying at University and cannot afford to buy goats’ milk at present but when she is employed full-time I will encourage her to drink it because she suffers with Asthma, Eczema and Psoriasis.  I am sure she will enjoy her breakfast a lot more and it will be beneficial to her skin, bones and her well being.  As a baby she was diagnosed with an allergy to cow’s milk as soon as she stopped breast feeding she had a lot of trouble digesting cow’s milk (and developed asthma and eczema to boot) – how I wish someone had recommended that we try GOATS’ MILK then.

I CAN’T THANK YOU ALL, & ALL THE GOATS, AT DELAMERE ENOUGH.

I wish you all a pleasant spring and summer.

Yours sincerely,

An experiment with goats’ milk…

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

Hi Delamere,

In response to your request for experiences of using goats milk on the milk cartons, I have the following tale to tell.

I have suffered from ME for quite a long time and have undergone countless tests and alternative therapies, until not long ago it was suggested that I may be intolerant to dairy products.

I didn’t fancy trying the most obvious (at the time) alternative which was soya ‘milk’ – until a friend asked if I had tried goats milk.

I didn’t even know goats milk was avaiable from supermarkets, but when I discovered it on the shelves of our local Asda I decided to give it a try.

After getting used to the slight ‘goaty’ taste – goats are one of my favourite animals and I love there distinctive musky smell so it wasn’t that hard – I began using goats milk in place of cows milk for everything – on cereals and  in tea and coffee. I haven’t yet drank it on its own but I have never been one for a glass of milk.

I have persevered and I have to say that some of the most obvious symptoms of my illness have lessened in their impact and I truly believe it is the goats milk which I have to thank.

In a while I intend to revert to cows milk as an experiment to see if the symptoms increase again in their severity – which I truly expect to happen – and if this is the case I will again start using goats milk on a permanent basis.

Hopes this information is usful to you.

Delamere Dairy adopts Bramble ‘the Goat’ winner of the 2010 Oxford Cambridge Goat Race!

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Delamere Dairy is proud to have recieved its official certification from Spitalfields City Farm for sponsoring Bramble ‘the Goat’. Bamble was the winner of this year Oxford Cambridge Goat Race which took place at Bramble’s place of residence on the City Farm. She stormed to victory to beat her brother Bentley.

Bramble is a rare breed of goat: Golden Guernsey. She is a very mischievous by nature and, if given half a chance, will thoroughly enjoy giving everyone the run around! Bramble used to be the bully of the GG herd but finally met her match to the 6 month old kid, Demeter that has no fear and pushes Bramble around with ease despite being half her size!

She is quite shy with strangers but once she gets to know you, Bramble will be the first in queue to get her head stroked.

You can go and visit Bramble and the rest of the animals at Spitalfield City Farm for FREE. The farm is located in London near Brick Lane. Open from 10:30 till 4pm Tuesdays to Sunday.
