<p style="text-align: center"><img src="http://blog.delameredairy.co.uk/UserFiles/2010/08/LIn-Michael-167x300.jpg" alt="" width="200" height="341" /></p>
<div>I had grade 3 breast cancer in 2003 and had the full treatment &#8211; operation, chemo, radiotherapy (18 months in all).  As a confirmed coffee-drinker, it was all made worse by not being able to drink anything but boiled water.  A young doctor at the local surgery told me that chemo can cause lactose intolerance and that goats&#8217; milk is much easier to digest, so we gave it a go, together with the &#8216;white diet&#8217; which is all things white &#8211; chicken, rice, potatoes, fish etc.  Anything with colour, such as tomatoes, carrots, greens had unpleasant results! </div>
<div></div>
<div>My son, who was doing his GCSEs when it all started, suffered more than me because there was nothing he could do..  Once we found out about goats&#8217; milk, he had a new role &#8211; providing meals using goats&#8217; milk/cheese.  Suddenly I could eat Rice Krispies or cheese on toast or cauliflower cheese again!  I wasn&#8217;t sick once after this (felt icky most of the time, but you cope with that!) and my consultant was amazed that my weight and blood counts were perfect! </div>
<div></div>
<div>That was all over 6 years ago and the hair has grown back and I was given the all clear last year.  I&#8217;m on a nearly normal diet, although I still find dairy milk makes me feel a bit ill (still &#8216;force down&#8217; the chocolate though!)  Both Michael and I drink goats&#8217; milk all the time now and have found all sorts of wonderful things to do with goats&#8217; cheese and yogurt too.  So, we both thank you!</div>
<div>So, there you go! I&#8217;m now back at work and enjoying every day, with a cup of goaty coffee in my hand!</div>

<p>Award winning garden designer and TV presenter Chris Beardshaw came to the Cheshire East stand and enjoyed munching on the cheeses as did thousands of the public who attended the show last week.</p>

<div>Woop woop! We have won <strong>Supreme Champion Cheese </strong>at this year’s <strong>Great Yorkshire Show</strong>.  The cheese, which was only launched at the beginning of 2010, is a soft goats’ cheese log with added onion, chive, parsley, garlic and dill. It fought off competition from over nine hundred other entries across the dairy section to win the prestigious title of ‘Supreme Champion’ earlier today at the 3 day Harrogate event.</p>
<p>Ed Salt, Commercial Director of Delamere Dairy, who collected the Wm Morrison trophy was delighted saying “This is an outstanding achievement for Delamere Dairy; for our little herb cheese log to do so well in the company of such a high standard of cheese and dairy exhibits and be awarded champion at such a prestigious event makes us all extremely proud.” The judges praised the cheese for its full flavour and innovative packaging – the peel off lid which allows easy access and the cheese comes in a pre-sliced log which encourages healthy portion sizes for consumers.</p></div>
<div></div>
<div><a href="http://blog.delameredairy.co.uk/UserFiles/2010/07/Herb-cheese-log-low-res.jpg"></a></div>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1194" title="Herb-cheese-log-low-res" src="http://blog.delameredairy.co.uk/UserFiles/2010/07/Herb-cheese-log-low-res.jpg" alt="" width="400" height="311" /></p>
<div></div>
<div>The herb cheese log is ideal for salads being rich in flavour, works well in cooking in creamy sauces and would make a brilliant addition to any cheeseboard. The herb log is just one of three in Delamere Dairy’s soft cheese log range, the others being a delicious honey cheese log as well as the natural flavoured log. These cheeses are available in Booths supermarkets in Yorkshire and the Northwest of England as well as nationwide from Ocado online.</div>
